Spinners messing a shot?
« on: November 17, 2005, 10:05:32 PM »
Hi all...

I had a horrendous night last night......NEVER seen the lanes do what they were doing at this house!  Over under w/ any ball from shot to shot...moving wasn't helping....well...I suck, so God knows I couldn't figure it out...but anyhow....
+ it was mostly operator error anyhow..I'm sure!

The other team had 3 spinners on their team.  The question is this....could spinners kind of screw up the shot for a team who has nice roll on their shots ?

Anyone every experience this ?!

Thanks!

No, since its so little of the ball that touches the lane. But I also hate spinners and people with lousy techiques that scores better than me.

No...I'm not talking about wearing out the shot...I'm talking about being similar to if they were using plastic....pushing it around ?

If they were using plastic, they probably pushed some oil down the lane. Don't know if that would explain the over under though. If they all were playing different lines, it could explain the backends being wacky (if they were).

Of course they weren't playing w/ plastic.....but...yes...they were all playing a little different

Sorry Jeff, a bit early in the morning to be replying to questions. Comprehension is quite poor

If all of them were in different spots on the lane, then yes, it could make conditions funky, but I don't think any different than if three 3/4 rollers we on the other team.

Maybe a bad day for the lane machine or the guy operating it.

I would venture to guess that the spinner release merely created less erractic movement on the lanes.  I doubt any particular release would "mess up" the lane than any other release.  In this instance, the lanes were probably weird to begin with and stayed that way - they just weren't affected as noticeably as you were.
