Have a ball question.....
« on: June 12, 2006, 06:52:10 AM »
I am considering buying a Morich Awesome Flip, b/c i wanted a ball to go long and come back hard, clean thru heads, skid through midlane, and turn hard in backend.  But I also have a V2 Sweet (asymm core, dual flip blocks) that I'm told is stronger than expected, was wondering if just plugging and redrilling the v2 would be a good choice instead.

I would say the awesome flip is way stronger on the backend than the v2 sweet.
if i remember right the sweet was a more control backend ball.

My suggestion would be pickup the Awesome Flip, and then take the surface down a bit on the V2 Sweet to even out the reaction.  I'd hit it with about a 1000 or 2000 grit abralon pad, or a green scotchbrite (or white if you've got it...)

The Awsome flip is good but, it is not a flip ball IMO. It is more of an Awsome Arc. If the pattern is a wet/Dry it might flip??? It does flip compared to other Morich balls though. If you have seen the videos on here, it does not flip but, it is strong on the backend.

OOB the Awsome Flip will have more backend 'drive' than the V2 Sweet, but, if you take the V2 down to 800 or so, you'll be surprised. Took one to 800 and it hard a very hard finish to the pocket.

I thought maybe w/the dual flip blocks, it would promote strong movement on the backend, 800 grit?  is it still clean thru heads/mids?
