A buddy of mine who keeps his arsenal super limited, currently just takes an X and spare ball to league. He has comes to realize that at the alley we have league at now, with the synthetic lanes and medium volume oil, there just isn't much backend. Now it's a pin down X and he knows it wont move a lot on the back, that's not an issue. He just wants something that's angular and can run all 3 games. Speed/Rev matched tweener.

Suggestions?

My mind has gone to Dare Devil, Rocket Ship, GB2 Phenom Pearl...maybe a Code Black. I fear if he drops to something like a Match Pearl that it'll blow through the breakpoint for him on our conditions.

Ridiculous Pearl. That and the X would make a really nice 1-2 punch for him. Don't think he would have to worry too much about not being able to use it all three games either.

You could have him possibly wait 2 weeks and get the Timeless.  High RG plus high diff will equate to pretty angular. 

Other than that; I could second on the Phenom Pearl because it will be more angular than the X but also because of the lower RG; it wont be too skiddish in the oil and still read the pattern well.

I'll propose the Ridiculous Pearl and GB2 Phenom Pearl to him. The Timeless does sound like it could be a candidate too. Anyone think the Phobia, Dare Devil, or Code Black would make good candidates?

I would suggest the Code Black, pin up.  I have had great success with mine. The weak back ends usually mean that the house doesn't clean the oil off the back end very well.

A little off my og topic but you think the Black Ops would fit in between my Hy-Road Pearl and Code Black/Primal Fear?

If you want angular, cross the Rocket Ship off the list.  I have mine with a high pin and a layout that should be pretty flippy (and a light coat of polish) and it's still not very angular.

I feel like it would be closer to the code black, but be a bit smoother. Surface prep would separate them more.
