Title: High back swing

I notice most pro bowlers have high back swings.  Why is that?  Is the release better?  Do you get more revs with a high back swing?

To keep it short, yes. These days the bigger backswings and more open stances allow the pros to really come through and put a lot on the ball. I think slides are shorter too, although that's not something I pay a ton of attention to.
