Why do Pro shops charge so much for inserts?
« on: January 29, 2005, 10:09:26 AM »
We just got a new pro at our 84 lane house.
The manager bragged to me that in his Atlantic City location this guy drill 1600 balls per year. He said his prices would be very competitive.
Not!!!!! Ball drill $40 not bad.
         Inserts    $10 a pair
         Thumb slug $15
Am I off base or is this typical. I but turbo quads or Vise for $1 each. Thumb slugs a whopping $3.
What about the rest of you.
I was totally disappointed. Also he has a teenager doing the measuring.

I get so many balls done that my pro shop guy doesn't even need my drill sheet anymore. LOL!! He charges me $15-$20 for the blank drill and I provide my own grips and slug..

He charges me the same for a full plug and redrill. I also send him alot of business and sell him NIB balls at great prices so sometimes he doesn't charge me at all..

For "regular" customers he charges $30 for a blank, $10 for grips and $10 for slug..

If they only made a ball that would carry that da_n 7 pin (and I am right handed!!)
