I see from brunswick it is more about the translucency and the appearance, but a lot of reviews talk about the performance. So what is HK22? What is the best HK22 cover stock or ball?

More responsive is the main thing I've seen and heard from others. HK22 is a coverstock base formula.
The dv8 Brutal Collision is the Inciter Xtreme "Solid" with HK22 base. It's looked really impressive for a strong asymm.
I've seen the 3D Offset Attack and Defender Hybrid the most, both look really good. Standard easier length and more response than their predecessors.
Best is all subjective to the bowler and conditions.

I'm a long time Storm user, but I like watching ball reviews of all companies just to be up to date on what's out there, and I'll say this, the Hammer Offset Attack was probably the most impressive response to friction I've seen in quite some time. If you want something that violently snaps, it sure looks the first choice.
Having said that the Defender Hybrid received high praises as one of the top balls of the year, and looked like a far more versatile ball to use overall. I doubt I'll be cheating on Storm, but the HK22 had definitely caught my attention and had me thinking long and hard about it.

The DV8 Brutal Collision looks like an absolute monster. The colors they chose, though, are just horrendous. Normally the colors don't matter, but that ball is just too much.
the Brunswick brands are doing great things these days and more and more bowlers at the local center are throwing Brunswick brands. Used to be a predominantly Storm/Roto/900G house, but not quite as much these days.

My driller made me a deal on the Brutal Collision, Defender Hybrid, and 3D Offset Attack, and they all are pretty great. I was pleasantly surprised that they all rolled pretty well for me, as I don't always get good reactions out of asymmetrical balls. All 3 had a different enough shape, and look like they are going to be pretty useful on a variety of conditions. I knocked the shine off the Brutal collision with a 3000 pad because it was a little too long out of the box for what I was looking for. The duller surface helped the ball start up a little earlier, but it did not kill any reaction, and if anything made it stronger in the back end. Defender hyrbrid is a more even rolling ball with a pretty good backend. The 3d Offset Attack likes to go left really fast off the friction and was knocking out 10 pins from some extreme angles.
