Title: How do you rate all the bowling forums?
Post by: Aloarjr810 on December 19, 2014, 09:57:41 AM
How do you rate all the bowling forums?

Which is the most helpful? the least? just for NOOB's?

For me:
Ballreviews.com
is a long running forum, mostly long time bowlers, first place I look for ball reviews

Bowlingchat.net
best for technical info related to balls, layouts and such. With Some contact with professionals in the bowling industry.

bowlingballexchange.com
is another long running forum very similar to ballreviews

bowlingboards.com
been around awhile, mostly known for the ball giveaway. Mostly beginners

bowlingintel.com
A newer site still trying to find it's place and get some good users.

bowlingcommunity.com
I just never really got into using this site. I read some posts, but for some reason it feels dated.

allbowling.com
I use to go to this site a lot, but since they made changes quite a while back I dropped going to it.

I am only a member of this and one other. The other I joined specifically to get a question answered by a certain individual that I know was also a member.

I don't have time to try out other places! So good, bad or ugly, I gotta vote here.

I've been on here since 2004 and I have joined other sites over the years, but I keep coming back to BR. I've met many OG's from this site personally and see them from time to time. most don't post anymore, but because of BR it built my network when I relocated to my current location.

For what I want from a forum it's bowlingchat.net by a landslide.  --  JohnP

Only knew about 2 of these forums, Ball Reviews & BBE (although I'm a member @ Lane 1 too). I enjoy visiting Ball Reviews account one doesn't have to log in each and every time to view posts, unlike BBE whom pretty much demands you log in to view any posts. Will visit these other sites to see what is shaking though. Thank you.

I think BR has the most traffic, so if you're after a quick answer and most likely several different opinions, I think this is the place to be.  However, I think BBE consistently has the highest quality answers or at least the majority of the answers are serious and higher quality.  Doesn't seem to be the drama or spats over there that there is here, although there are a couple users that are a bit on the rough side.  Bowling Chat is almost like the cult of Mo Pinel . . you will always get the same answers about everything.  Everybody knows Mo frequents the boards and if you don't say what you think he would say or would approve of, you get shut down pretty quickly.  Not very many open minds over there.  Haven't really been anywhere else.

BR is my primary place with BBE being in 2nd with bowlingchat being 3rd. Each serve a purpose but BR is my favorite in terms of setup and ease of use along with a diverse amount of users.

+1.  Exactly the same for me.  I like the crowd here at BR, and especially member reviews of different balls. I usually check out all three when I'm on-line, and If it is layout related, I usually go to BowlingChat for info/help.

GIZMO .. I'm not a TECKIE type person but from the comments I read I think you are right about BOWLINGCHAT .. everyone always points to Mo and his thoughts .. they do have some great people there but all believe that Mo is the one and only!

No kidding, guys really put on their knee pads, lip stick, and mini skirts with thong panties underneath on BowlingChat with MegaMav being the biggest internet prostitute over there.

Mo is very knowledgeable and no doubt had a huge impact on bowling. You have to be able to decipher for yourself what's legit and what's not so much. Contradiction isn't hard to find from one post to another on the site depending on what they are discussing.

And that's what's so hard about it, Mo DEFINITELY has had a huge impact on bowling, he really knows his stuff in some areas, but in other places you just wonder what on earth is going on.

How long have you been here? I'm off work this week, killing time, and trying this place out again.
