PROGRAM
« on: September 05, 2006, 01:48:25 PM »
Ok, here goes another DUMB question I am sure of that. Does anyone know of a program that a league bowler can use to keep track of his scores each week. I am not looking for an entire league type of program, just something that I can use to keep track of my different leagues and scores. Each league is at a different house and I would like to be able to look back and see what I did each week in each house a little more then just what I am averaging in those leagues. If there is a web-site, please send it to me so I can look into it. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Make an excell spreadsheet.

You can then program really easily whatever math you want for each column.

Might try a searh for spreadsheets. I made one in appleworks to keep track of my stuff.
It has date/scores for each game1-2-3/nights ave/league ave/handicap/ points won&lost/lane#/hi series/ hi game/ending ave/ average change/ave for gm1-2-3/ % won.

allbowling.com has a bowlers journal where you can keep all that info.  Your journal can be private or made public, your choice.

I used bowling tracker the past year and it was great. I got to see how I shot on each pair, its shows the high game and low for the year and keeps a running average for each game as in first game, second game and so on. Many other pluses.

Is there any versions of this type of stuff designed for keeping team stats?

I use Gone Bowlin' - http://www.gonebowlin.com/

You can download and use it for free.  You get the first 7 weeks without any "nag screens."  After that if you don't purchase it, you have to wait a certain amount of time before you can enter your scores - the time "nag" is cumulative, so if it's 10 seconds on the 8th week, the 9th week is 20 seconds, etc.

You can track multiple leagues, points won/lost, money spent/earned, etc.  You can do frame-by-frame scoring to track your strikes (high, flush, half pocket, etc), spare percentage, taps, splits, etc (those just in general....nothing that will let you actually track which pins you left).  I think you can have 8 different balls, and you can edit the lane condition if you want to track how you do on different conditions.

I felt it was worth the $25.

There was also another program I sampled that let you track the actually pins, target area, foot position, etc. but I guess I found that too complicated because I can't find anything in my e-mail accounts or on my computer about it any more.

First I'd have to ask if your leagues use League Secretart ? If so, there's a section in there for you, the bowler, to track or graf your days/nights by lane, by ball, by game, it'll tell you everything but what size underwear you had on. If they use Perfect secretary, I believe there's a section in there that does the same thing.

If your league doesn't post the results to L/S.com or bowl/com, I'd have to ask why not ? As you see, there's plenty of programs out there, but if your league used either program, it's built in for you.
If you have any other questions about the program ( League Secretary) pm me and I'll try to walk you through the process.
