Just a quick survey…
If you bowl in leagues alone, how many balls would you purchase on average in a year?
If you bowl leagues / tournaments, how many balls would you purchase on average in a year?
Cheers for any feedback!

I help to recycle about 10 or so a year. Don't buy all of them I just seem to aquire balls, people just give me stuff. My wife hates me.

1-2 a year. Usually ends up around 9-10 months between balls. Bought a Yeah Baby last August, a Big-R-Bang in November (?), which I then re-sold so it don't count. Before that, it was the previous September and January before that.
I figure I'm due, and the shop here has a Break on the wall for a pretty nice price. If it didn't overlap pretty square with my Yeah Baby, I'd be all over it.

The first step, of course, is to recognize and admit that you have a problem. You've done that, I'm proud of you. You even remembered not to use your last name.
The second step is to send any ball you haven't used in two weeks to me. For some, this can be a very painful, expensive step. Trust me, it's all part of the recovery process.
After you've Step Two, I'll tell you what Step Three is.

I probably buy maybe 3 a year, depending on whether I want a specific reaction or if one of my older balls is losing it's lustre.
I bowl mainly tournaments, using leagues as practice.

I've been averaging about 2 a year. But now that I have a job, I might pick up 2 balls AND new accessories a year. Oh hell, it'll be 3-4 a year.

I buy 1-2 balls a year. I bowl in 2 leagues and probably bowl in 9-15 tournaments a year.
The real problem is I rarely get rid of old balls. I have a ball rack in my garage that has 20+ balls on it plus the 7 I have in my car.
-
I am in the 2 to 3 a year range. I have finally found out a great way to get rid of the old ones. The junior league kids love them. I have three kids I give all of my old stuff to. The only problem is when they use my stuff to kick my backside with.
-
I bought 4 new balls since the first of the year. BW Bite, Complete NV, Buzzbomb, and Cell.
Overall usually just 4-6 a year, but the first of the year had some good stuff come out.
-
Leagues only- 20-25 a year....don't need them, just like to try out different stuff.

A LOT!
-
I bowl 2 leagues and hit 4 or 5 tournaments a year.
I will buy 2 balls a year at most, 1 in the last 18 months.
-
I usually get 2-3 balls per year, but it depends. I'm going to get a Cell very soon.
-
Been 6 weeks without a new ball, but it's great i am rediscovering lots of older stuff that i have piled up. Shot well with a dulled down Raid that i have not thrown in 6 months last night alone.
I did have a huge problem but a major job change has given me a wake up call, no check until may 31st does that too you. Still have at least 200 balls or so, i think as as present a terminator rebellion will be the first ball i buy in june.

1-2 new balls a year, and 3-5 used. Gotta experiment ya know.

normally about 20-25 a year. This season due to my foot i only bowled 7 nights yet still found the time to drill 6 new balls and 8 used ones up

I'm Jason G's wife. I know how many he's bought because I write the checks!!
He's bought 6 balls in the last couple of months and I won a ball at the PBA Don Johnson Classic in the raffle. I'd say he is addicted to buying bowling balls. Okay...and I bought one for myself yesterday. And I'd like to buy myself another ball next week.
uh oh...I hope he isn't reading this post!!

Got 10 ebonite ball racks in my garage, a custom 20 ball rack in a closet filled for the rarer stuff and big pile in the middle of the garage where a car used to be able to park. Plus 4 2 balls totes filled, a 6 roller filled and a 3 ball bag filled.
At my office got at least 20 nib and 30 used, i am moving them to a storage unit soon.
The old Barry is broke and dead, the new one has to worry about making enough to keep his house and wife. Time to work on retirement for the next 15 years or so, it was great while it lasted but i think 4-6 balls a year tops will be it.
Trust me the stuff from 2-3 years ago is just as good as any new stuff, some balls like the Cell and so forth are too much for 90 percent of shots out there.
-
1 - 3 depending on the need. I usually get one from one of the PBA ProAms and one from the WWPB ProAm each year. I have 2 undrilled right now and am waiting until I need them to replace something I currently have.
Most of the equipment I was using before I started with my coach has been retired. The balls either have or will be donated to the Junior program I coach.

That sounds like what I said last April when my daughter was born.. LOL!! I was going to cut back to 10 or so a year but that hasn't happened.. If my wife knew I was still a ball "whore" I am sure I would be in some trouble..
I normally punch up 50 or so NIB a year but I might be different than alot of people as I sell them pretty quickly unless I really like them alot.. I never have more than 6 or 7 drilled up at a time.. I have sold all the balls here and made alot of people very happy!! LOL
I just like to buy and use the newer stuff, its alot of fun. I am also a PBA member so I can buy the balls at a decent price which makes my madness all possible!! LOL..

I'm not a ball whore, I've got a 'collector gene'. Once I found a company I liked, I just look and try to pick up one of every ball I can find of theirs. Working on LM/L right now, but have already started a Visionary pile. Thinking that once I get those taken care of, then I can look at RG.

1-2 a year.
This 07-08 bowling season it's been 1.

I've been back to bowling for the last 8 months in that time I've bought a track equation, the one, cell, secret agent, twisted and a blast zone(the last two undrilled). I want to buy some more but the misses says no more until I win some money or make more at my job, whatever comes first.lol

Last year - 4
This year - 3 and many more on my want list
