Has everybody's answers so far included a redrilling along with the plugging?
To future people who answer specify whether or not it does please.

Had a ball just done and it was no slugs and lifts going to slugs and lifts...My driller was able to just drill back into the holes that were there, but added the slug and lifts for 24 bucks. I was quite happy with that price! :)

Why does it cost more to drill a new ball than it does to do a plug and redrill?

I charge $20 fingers, $20 thumb, $10 extra hole (only if it's being plugged by itself), and $40 for all. I charge $10 for pair of inserts and $10 for slug.
To answer the question below it's because most plug and redrills are to adjust the grip, not as much to alter the layout. If $70 were charged for a plug all, noone would get plug work done. You're just gearing the price towards the majority of your clients who aren't changing the layout.

Some of the posters who responded with low prices need to recheck their material cost for plug work. You're not making any $$$ for the labor you're putting into the job. -- JohnP
