How much oil can a person expect to come out of a ball during an oil removal? I put an arson pearl in a bucket under a hair dryer for 3 hours. The bucket maintained a steady 115- 120 degrees the whole time, yet very little oil came out. Maybe a tablespoon. This was a ball that had approximately 4 games a week for a year and a half without being cleaned every night after league. It was only cleaned when really dirty or when resurfaced without an oil extraction.

In 5 minutes, my outlaw, which may have just as many games or maybe a few less, has already poured out more oil. Does the arson pearl just not pick up oil? My outlaw is cleaned almost every night and is wiped off before every shot, unlike the arson.

For balls that haven't been maintained for a long time (or ever), it's taken me as long as 4-5 hours to completely de-oil using my NuBall Revivor. BTW, this is equipment owned by friends -- not mine. :D
On the other hand balls that are cleaned with strong bowling specific cleaners (Hook-It, C&D, etc.) right after bowling show little or no oil absorption.
In any case, a lot depends on the cover and the conditions you bowl on most.

I got a bit of oil out of every ball, but not as much as I felt should come out. I took the balls out every half an hour or so and cleaned them with acetone (Haha jk, ball cleaner) and stopped heating them when I didn't see any more oil on the ball aside from the ring from what I was resting the ball on

If you're not getting a lot of oil out of your balls, it says you're doing a pretty good job of keeping them clean. When I first got my NuBall and ran 20+ of my balls through the process, only 2 showed any oil, and it was a very small amount. Others here, notably chariest, have experienced the same thing.
Again, it just means you're staying on top of cleaning. In working on friend's balls, I found very quickly how much oil a non-maintained ball will bleed. ???

Please remember that not only do balls absorb different amounts depending on how much they are used in an oily or a dry environment, it also depends on several other factors including the rev rate of the bowler and (this might be the most important) the oil absorption rate of the individual coverstock, whether it is polished or dull.
You should not let your expectations (and possibly your prejudices {prejudgemant}) rule your logic.
I just ran an 8 year old Lane Masters New Standard through 5 hours of a NuBall treatment at 145 degrees. Lane Masters balls, the old ones, at least, absorbed very little oil, PLUS their coverstock was almost 3" thick; there was no filler for many of them. No oil came out of this ball; I bought it used and expected a flood of oil to come out.

Another factor is the oil used and additives in the oils...and yes as has been stated, cleaner less porous covers tends to absorb less as do smoother covers (4000 & up)

Maybe there isn't as much oil in them as I thought there should be. My friend said a lot of oil came out of his first blood, and said there was an inch of oil in the bottom of his bucket. I find that hard to believe though

But the coverstock of an Arson (an older ball by 3 years or so) is different from that of a First Blood.

Recently had a customer bring an original Danger Zone in to run through the Rejuvenator. Nothing had been done to this ball except wiping off after league sessions. We ran it through 4 times for 25 minutes each time with a 20 minute rest in between. Never saw the first drop of oil come out.

I just finished a Virtual Gravity that bled oil for 6 straight hours. It had been used a couple seasons without much maintenance. The first 3-4 hours looked like the Exxon Valdez oil spill! It was a gusher!
After a complete re-surface the reaction is great and so is the carry.

Dad didn't maintain the arson pearl much, so I expected it to gush. It had probably 200+ games on it with being cleaned 10 times. And the surface adjusted 3-4. It has been 4000 grit a couple times, and 2000 for the last 4 months

Amazing. Your 6 hours beats my worst case 5 hours. :)

Had a Brutal Nightmare and a Beatdown that I have deoiled each take 2-2.5 hours of some serious oil removal.
