I am tired of this No Tap IQ Tour!
« on: May 22, 2018, 08:00:21 AM »
Hello Bowling Fam,
I am tired of the IQ tour leaving 1 pin. Is there another ball out here with the same control and motion as the IQ tour and take down all 10(you all know what I am talking about)? It do not have to be storm or one certain brand. Thank you in advance.

I've noticed the same with mine, it was amazing for 20 games. I think mine needs the surface refreshed to like 2k...

In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

Polished mine to get more entry angle and better carry but reaction was kind of meh last time I threw it but was bowling like hammered shit.  Will try it again soon before I give up and put it away for sport patterns and no tap bowling.  Its a good ball and all but its no Hy-Road on THS.

For the same look (maybe a bit stronger), go get yourself an X2.
Better get them while you can. The x2 and both dct will be discontinued at the end of the month

Yes, I'm aware of the whole sad sad list. :(
Shame, that ball is so good.

I had my first order all ready to send in, and I found out what was discontinued. 4 balls off my first order. Until Bowl Expo, I'm ordering both Badgers, a Shadow Ops, and a Boost to go with my DCT pearl and second On. I may put a Truth Tour in there too.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned how good the GB3 is. It's a much stronger version of the GB2, so when you're in the oil a bit more, it still carries very well, and does a good job of picking up the slack of an IQ. Between it and a Hyroad, not much more is needed for a THS unless they get really fried, but when the track burns up I like to grab the GB3 and move into more oil.  It's not a big ball like a Sure Lock or Rip'd, but just right for house conditions.  I will say too that the X2 is right there with it, so either one should be a good choice for a less lazy IQ.

Yep and since I am a THS hack I continue to try and fit a square peg into round hole because of that nearly top shelf price.  Guess long story short bought that ball before I was ready for it.  Venom Shock and Hy-Road are much more house hack friendly and significantly cheaper as well so can't recommend them enough.

GB3 is in the realm with the Idol. Both the GB3 and the Idol are leaps and bounds more aggresive than the IQ Tour and GB2 so i don't consider them to be control balls. GB2 is definitely my vote especially with a slower response layout.

I throw mostly storm and Roto. I have drilled 2 honey badgers, badger, dct pearl and x2 and those balls roll exceptionally well especially both badgers. I think the dct series was discontinued because you couldn’t use the vise it system. Don’t know about x2 but that ball rolls really good

Get an X2 or a Mag.035 and I guarantee you'll be in hog heaven again! Both of those balls carry very well!

To be clear, OP I was just joking in my previous comment.  It sounds like you just need a little more diff.  My IQ solid is pretty condition specific and is more, TO ME, a bail out ball on super difficult stuff where 9/ is a good frame.  If you're trying to create offense though and you need to strike there is more likely a better option.

This is why I've been hesitant to recommend the IQ Tour to newer bowlers recently, it can definitely be frustrating. I think it's due to the lower differential and length of the cover if you don't keep up on the maintenance plus most newer bowlers aren't doing tournaments with flat patterns that the IQ Tour excels on

I've recommended the Brunswick Edge Solid or the Game Breaker 2

I have both the IQ Tour and the RocketShip.......I think the RocketShip may be what OP is after with a little higher RG and a little more diff, same cover.

Their similar in a lot of ways I just get a little more tip down lane with the RocketShip.

I might have to pick up an X2 before they go away. I already have a Lochness Monster (and Venom Shock), but this ball looks to be too good to pass up. I'm really liking the motions I'm seeing out of the 900 Global family.

Shadow Ops has been my go to ball a lot lately. We're currently bowling on the new Cheetah in our PBA league. It has worked quite well through 2 weeks. Also working pretty good on the house shot, as it is playing really weird this summer so far. Having a tough time creating area with resin until late. Also have the two badgers and the first 3 Monster releases (plus the Vamp sitting at my mom's - just waiting for her to bring it across the border).

Looking to get 2-3 more 900 Global balls for sure.
