My ball arrived, but FedEx ....well...u know...
« on: August 22, 2006, 04:36:30 AM »
Got my Arsenal Angular from Carl at C-G Pro Shop.  Ball was shipped FedEx and arrived in a timely manner.  It was double boxed by the shop for added protection....or so one would think.

The double boxing looked like swiss cheese and the ball had some pretty fun marks that will need some repair work done.

The delivery person shows up at my door with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth...not too professional.  I mean...I'm a smoker, but I only smoke on breaks and not infront of a customer while I'm on the clock!

The icing on the cake was that I called just to drop a bug in somebody's ear at FedEx.  I was put on hold for 10 mins.  I hung up w/o talking to anyone.  They're not worth my time.

*****DO NOTE THIS IS NOT THE FAULT OF CARL OR ANY OTHER STAFF OF CG PRO SHOP****

Don't just blow it off. File a complaint. Thoose guys get paid big bucks to provide a service. Find a way to write a letter or an e-mail. Bad service is not acceptable, you are paying for service. Ask for a response to your letter. jim

LOL ... better a cig than a joint! ... LMAO

Is FedX this way with heavy items only?  Their customer service via phone really bites the big one!

Rick aka tenpinspro was returning a ball of mine via FedX only to learn they didn't deliver due to the fact it was considered 'undeliverable due to damage'.  WTH!!!?  Neither he or I was able to view the damage they claimed.  After speaking to a rep, we were informed FedX determines the state of delivery barring damage to the package.  The sender nor the recipient can say otherwise if it is determined by their standards to be 'undeliverable'.

I ship 100% with FedEx, and provided they back up the 3 problems I had lately, I still will. As for UPS...I live on South UNION avenue....there is also a South Avenue in our town..and there happens to be a house with the same number as me on South Avenue...well...even though the package is shipped 100% correct, the last 3 shipments to me have all gone to the other street across town....UPS' answer...OOPS....do you want us to go pick it up and deliver it in a few days to you....hmmm....NO...I want it now....so UPS is NO better...3 consecutive screw ups being delivered to the wrong address...3 IN A ROW! The last shipment had 2 packages, they both sat on the other person's front porch for a WEEK before I found out they were there as the shipper said did you receive the bowling balls to drill...I said no..and he said, well, they were delivered A WEEK AGO...then I found out....HORRIBLE!

I am looking into DHL as we speak!

Just some pretty nice scuffs and one nice gack.  I'll resurf it and fill the gack with glue...no problem.

As for DHL...I've never, ever had an issue with them or with UPS.  This is the second piece that I have received from FedEx that looked like it was used for a basketball at the depot.

Picture taking a rasp and driving it through the double boxing and into or across the ball.

If it's unreal, then it's FEDEX.....

I've bene using FEDEX for shipping balls for the past year or so because they're a few dollars cheaper than Big Brown and they're a day faster coast to coast and coast to mid-USA.

BUT lately balls shipped via FEDEX to me have been beaten so badly that double boxing is an ABSOLUTE NECESSITY. The outside box is unusable after arriving. Thank goodness the balls inside have not been damaged or I would have been royally PO'd.

I am reconsidering which shipper to use. Also thankfully, no one to whom I have shipped a ball has ever complained; their balls have also arrived safely and unmarked. They have yet to mention how badly the outside box was beaten up, if at all.

CG_Matters,

if the ball did not arrive unmarked and if it was NIB, I think you should pursue a claim.

See, a few months ago when I posted my thread about hating fedex, there were alot of people jumping on me and taking up for fedex. Look how many people that have complaints in the last couple months with them. Their service sucks and is going downhill more and more everyday. Something needs to be done to bring this issue to their attention and let them know that it is not acceptable. If they lose enough business they will change.
