So I’ve had a lot of success with my after dark pearl but I’m noticing that I have more consistency when I’m up around 17.5 MPH and I get my best look with the After Dark Pearl around 16-16.5 but even the high side is pushing it. I hit it with 3000 pad and it’s better but I feel like it loses what I loved about the ball roll. I’d love to get it back up to 5000 grit, but I need something to start with and can transition to the AD Pearl.
I like 900 global but they don’t pay me or give me discounts so I’m not married to them. Price and color are always considerations for me, but they’re more for deciding between two balls as opposed to what I base a purchase off of.
Like I said, I like to throw around 17.5, I don’t crank on the ball but I have some revs and my house shot and game matches up well with playing up 3ish.
Note. I have a hyroad live(overseas hyroad) and it works well but it’s a heavy 14, not a true 15 so I get lost overthrowing it sometimes. I need a true 15. From there I have a turmoil solid and halo pearl at 1000 but those are more for sport shots so they don’t come out much for league.

After dark and Ordnance Solid aren't the same weight block. If you want a big step.up, White Hot Badger. Smaller step up, Boost.

Yeah you’re right, I looked it up. For some reason I heard the core name and thought that was the one in the AD pearl.
I have a staffer who runs the house I bowl at whose killing it with the white hot. How does it compare to the infused

Honestly, night and day. Infused is earlier and smoother off the spot than the WHB, but that's a given. S71 pearl vs S28 urethane/resin blend should make that apparent lol.

It's weaker in that it's more gradual. It's probably 6 and 4 weaker with the same cover prep

Doom gave it to you straight. A step up will be a Boost, preferability a pearl. You won't be sorry. The Boost line is way underrated.
Some folks say to take their gun(s) you would have to pry it from their cold dead hand.
I feel the same about my Boost Cardinal Red pearl which is the perfect ball up from my After Dark pearl.

Glad I grabbed a Black Ops as that would probably be a good step down from the White Hot. Pretty versatile I hear. Might still find new ones on ebay.

Black Ops is not a step down from the White Hot. There's a lot of muscle under.that cover.

Ok so after bowling again last night, had similar issues again. The AD Pearl just wasn’t quite enough ball. I could get it to the pocket but back pins galore.
I’m thinking something slightly stronger, while not much stronger. I’m thinking Boosts, Hustles, counter attack pearl, Motiv thrill, vibes and destiny(don’t know much about either), maybe the new beast but that may be more nostalgia than anything.

If thinking Motiv just punched up my Tag Cannon so can give the skinny on that soon in the local dry house. Lot of people on here also swear by its replacement the Hydra.

of the Tag Cannon in a separate thread.
I have one NIB and have been thinking it may be time to drill it before the start of the fall season.

Not really threading jack because I would not hesitate to recommend the Tag Cannon to the OP so far. Granted only have 3 games on it but carries about as well as any 3 piece ball I have ever seen on heavy friction especially on light pocket hits. Ball is super controllable, doesn't read friction early, holds awesome if tug into the oil, with virtually no over under and won't blow through the break point even with my high axis tilt. Guessing if have hand could probably even use on medium conditions. It would be a great step up from AD Pearl imo. Motiv is where its at for medium light to light conditions.

I agree. I believe I have a little more hand and low tilt so definitely useable on medium conditions and a step up from an After Dark Pearl

Thanks for the comments on the Tag Cannon. Will definitely be drilling it for fall season.
