Title: In search of advice/recomendations
Post by: blull on October 18, 2003, 04:18:19 AM
Hi,

I'm 21 years old and have recently got back in to bowling last week after a few years break.  I am currently throwing a near 200 average (right about where I left off before I took the brak) and am looking for ways to improve.  Are coaches a good idea?  What can I do to learn what I am doing wrong/right and improve?  I want to reach a target average of 230+.  I have zero bowling terminology besides a few things I've read recently, I throw a semi-roller pattern at an average of 15.7mph out of the track area.  My current ball is an older ebonite wolf and I am planning on obtaining a new one in the next two weeks.  What ball would you recommend, and are there any recomendations of coaches in the Phoenix, Arizona area?  In the long run I'd very much enjoy going pro (I have no idea what is involved with that or if it is even realistic) so any information/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ben

If you're looking to go Pro, I'd suggest finding a good coach.  Might not hurt to find the coach first, then get recommendations from him/her before buying a ball.  Good Luck!

Yeah my plan was to meet with a coach before purchasing a ball.  I'm meeting with my little brother's coach.  He is ex PBA (I believe he was active for 20 years).  Hopefully he will be able to give me some good suggestions.

On a side note if anyone knows of a coach who has taken people to pro and have a way of getting in contact with them I'd very much appreciate hearing from you at blull@orbitalsecurity.com
