Not moving?
« on: January 22, 2004, 06:36:22 AM »
on tuesday i had league, 4 games, and i threw my usall eraser pearl particle on the 3-4 arrow, on friday i threw this and it worked as usall, now on tuesday... my ball did not, i repeate, did not move. it was the wierdest thing in the world, i put the ereaser down and switched to my duece and that went straight and often produced a "washout". my league offical said that the lanes were just as dry as usall and i was speechless. does anybody know what could have happend or anything. i was thinking when you have the oil on outside and dry in middle, the reverse pattern, but that was not it. at our Ghetto house we only have 2 settings or patterns - morning, or league. our guy that worked in the back said everything was fine. fellow bowlers were also guttering on the outside because the ball wouldnt recover. anybody know why this might have happend?

And1_headach -- It is possible that the lane machine ran out of the stripping compound before it got to your lanes.  I'm assuming they use a Kegel or similar machine that strips then oils on the way back.  That's happened in our house a couple of times.  The strip cycle, with no stripper in the machine, carries the oil on the lane all the way down.  When the ball hits the normal break point, nothing happens it just keeps going straight.  Actually, I do pretty well on that condition, it's similar to what I learned on with a Black Diamond and lacquer finish.  --  JohnP
