Title: Inventor of apathy
Post by: AlonzoHarris on February 20, 2018, 07:42:51 AM
The absence of oil...

So tired of not even being able to get a Hustle INK down the lane w/o it hooking at 30 feet after game 1. Pointless bitching thread I guess but jesus I would like to not have to play 4-5 arrow for games 2-3 every league night.

Lane oil costs gone up lately?? About my only shot is with my No Rules Pearl from 5th arrow. Everything else leaves 7's, buckets, etc. If I move any further right and everything is checking early and hitting flat.

I can't even say it's only because of the wood lanes because the house with synthetics I bowl in is blown open after game 1 also.

I feel your pain.  I might have 1 game on my Hustle Ink because it rolls out at 45 feet.  I have relegated to an OG Purple Rhino Pro in order to stay right of 4th arrow.

One of my teammates who might have 300 rpms has to swing a Taboo Spare... and he is left-handed.

And even yet, there are people throwing charcoal ALL NIGHT.

It's crazy and it kills my mechanics because now it'll ingrain in my head each shot that I have to force the ball down the lane resulting in sh!t execution. Wish I hadn't sold my Ride sometime back now.

Our last UBA stop was at a house that a good friend of mine is the GM.  From the first shot in practice, everything was going sideways for everyone.  Lefties were playing 3rd arrow at the start of game one.

So I asked my friend after everyone was done bowling, what is up with the pattern?  He told me that his league bowlers complained that the old shot had too much volume and he had to take it down a notch.  I said back, Seriously?  How is that even possible.

Super walled lanes are one thing, but when the ball is checking up at 35 feet between 5-10 for the really speed dominant bowlers, you've got a problem.

Yeah I've caught wind that some league bowlers were bitching their balls weren't hooking. I guess that means that the people that don't just drop the ball on the lane and hope it does something have to play it like burn/double burn for the third game and a lot of times most of game 2.

Yep! I've noticed the same thing around here lately as well. Did OPEC raise their prices?? Fresh oil doesn't last past the 5th frame of game 1, then the desert winds start a blowin'! Even my BTU Pearl is almost too much ball lately!
So after selling us all these super aggressive hook monsters now MB the ball cos. want us to all go out & buy plastic & urethane now. That's the trend these days - get these new urethanes they're all makin left & right. Where as a couple years ago urethane was inferior & useless for most. Looks like they're forcing everyone's hand w/ these Sahara desert like conditions.

On wood my best look was a pin up pyramid pathogen....and balling down to a weak uproar. Cant get much weaker than that

Wondering how an All Out Show Off would look.

Except, on the true dry, urethane reads early dry too strongly. Better off with a really weak resin or plastic. Urethane is more for short oil to tame flying backends to keep angles closed.
