Bad ball or bad drill?
« on: February 22, 2015, 11:53:21 PM »
So i bought a storm tropical breeze a few months back for a dry lane piece. I'm having a grand ol time trying to figure out why this thing wont budge. I Literally Can Hook my spare more and get better carry than with the tb. I've changed the surface a few times and even on truly dry lanes it will not break more than a few boards. the pro shop guy that drilled it for me tried convincing me i was using it on the wrong shots but i promise this thing wouldnt hook anywhere. I've thrown a few of my friends tb's so i know their potential, mine is lame.
The difference between Ordinary and Extraordinary is that little Extra.

Yes, show us how the ball was laid out...It may be that the pin was placed too tame for you...Also...The Breeze is known for being a tame back end ball...Very low Diff.

You may also  have a carry down problem...The Breeze needs clean back ends...

Many times a bowler sees someone else throwing a tame ball and hooking it...Yet when they use the same ball, it won't hook...More than likely the bowlers you saw hand MORE hand...

Exactly, it's usually related more to the bowler than the ball. My doubles teammate complains that his ball doesn't hook as much as others and asks why. I tried to explain it a few times, but now when the question comes up, I just use an old Army phrase: "Operator Head Space and Timing"

Bonus points to anyone who actually knows what that means. LOL

Close, but not quite right. It's a setting/adjustment you check after changing the barrel. And yes, if it's not right, the gun can do very bad things to you.  ;D
