League question..
« on: November 25, 2007, 01:45:05 AM »
Hey everyone, well yesterday at league, on the left lane, after I got a strike, I think I sent 6 pins straight up into the machine thing, and the lane pretty much broke for about 15 minutes (whoops, lol).. Anyways, after that, I lost all concentration, and my bowling game just got lost. I was playing a very straight line, pretty much playing a Walter Ray, and that line is NOT my comfortable line. So after I took that huge 15 minute break, I just lost it all. Shot 195, 191, 1..5...9. LOL. It was a hard enough day to begin with, but that last game sure didn't help!

Does this happen to anyone else? After you take a big break, do you lost concentration? Is there anyone to fix this?

Last week in league the same thing happened to us. It was also the last game and lanes were already burnt up. We waited 20 minutes and it affected everyone. My back got stiff from waiting and it was already almost midnight. A 820 team shot 735 and a 770 team shot (us) shot 655. It was either wait for the machine to get fixed or switch lanes. I'll rather wait.

If you have to wait, I know that you could roll the ball to each other in the concource just be careful of the other people.

We have a team on Monday where one of their players always shows up late.  It is like clock work that I will start off with the first 3 or 4 before he gets there.  Once he shows up and catches up, I usually run into a split.  I blame it on sitting there, but the truth is I have a poor mental game.

The worse part of having to wait is that my thumb and fingers swell up and get too tight in the ball for a clean release. If I remember, I can elevate my arm up above my head and that helps prevent the swelling but I look goofy sitting there with my arm up in the air, like I am some school kid trying to get the teacher's attention so I can answer the question.

It only really affects me when they move us to another pair in the middle of a game because they can't fix the machine in time.  This happened 3 weeks ago.  Worked out good for a few people on the other team but it took me a few shots to find my line.  Since these were the end pair 39-40, the transition was different than the other lanes.  So I had to figure that out too.
