Is Finger Grips Only Option
« on: February 01, 2013, 11:10:35 AM »
OK, I started on Beginners board, because wife and me is new to bowling. I got much good advice about ball choice for wife and me.  My wife, she got pretty ball called Scout.  I got used ball from friend called, Rhino Pro.  Very old ball, but that's OK, it's better than alley ball and not cost much.

But I follow advice about getting grips (I like to call them tubes) so that I can curve ball like other bowlers.  But even though they not hurt as much as when I used alley ball, my finger still hurt, near fingernail.  I ask for more help in Beginners board, but no answer.  So, I take tubes out and bowl with only fingers, but I don't like feeling and fingerholes are too wide for fingers.  Is there any other thing to use instead of tubes that make fingers not hurt?  My wife also, she break finger nail on one finger and blame me for getting tubes for her ball.  Need help, please.

Thank you, sir for good suggestion.  Pro shop owner say almost same thing about shoe covers, but you say we only need 1 cover for each me and wife for foot that slides not 2 covers for both of us.  This is good advise because it save me money.  I buy tomorrow.  Much thank you again for your good advise and experience.

Unless you are wearing them outside, you can get by with only covering the slide shoe. One thing to consider though, if you have huge feet and your wife has tiny feet, then a single pair might not work.

Yes, I see what you mean.  My feet not so big.  Wife feet not big either.  Smaller than my feet, but almost same size.  Also, I think her finger nail bigger than her feet.  Much thank you again.  Me and wife looking forward to lessons and bowling good one day.
