We all have tempers. Some of you may not, some just get preturbed but don't hit stuff, some get preturbed and depressed and occasionaly say some swearing and may slap or hit something. I usually don't care what a bowler does, but I have always felt kicking the return is the lowest of the low you could do.

I've been lucky I haven't seen anyone actully destroy bowling alley property yet.

I've also never seen anyone urinate on the lanes or hit a teamate either.

The worst I have sean was a guy taking his shoe off and throwing it at the wall... where it stayed for the rest of the night ( he had 2 pairs of shoes w/ him)

I hate people that throw their hats.  That to me looks just as asanine as someone kicking the return.  I once had a guy throw his hat, and it took off and hit me right in the face.

Needless to say, he never threw his hat again after that time.

I don't usually express anger while bowling but when I do, it usually involves the old "put hand on back of head and pull hand forward through hair, sometimes accompanied by a leaning back of the head".  On an unrelated note, one time when I was golfing and pulled off a doosy of a bad shot, I was annoyed enough that I went to rip off my hat and slam it in the ground.  Unfortunately, I grabbed the brim and tried to throw it a little early, as the hat was still sitting on my head and I basically gave myself whiplash.  After feeling like a complete idiot after that, I refrained from expressing anything the rest of the day.

In the UK (years ago) there was a guy who had the first 11, bowled the 12th and got 9, he took one of his shoes off and chucked it at the pin.

Oh....he missed that tenpin.

Hugh Miller did that during a PBA tournament - NOT after the front 11 - and he didn't throw a shoe - he threw a beer bottle!!!

I'm attempting to get into Christianity once again and I threw a great shot last night for a much needed double and it went high flush and I said "God Damnit!" I felt bad for saying that after years knowing what it means to say such a thing. I then threw it straight at the 7 pin spot and it missed the 4 pin to the left by a centimeter, otherwise I would of made it. I'm sorry God.

My last bowling center (in S.C.) simply threw you out if you kicked or hit the equipment. It was made clear at the beginning of league, and it was enforced, and no one kicked or hit the equipment. Pretty simple.

This past week, the league Secretary kicked the ball return after his first frame, and no one seemed to care.

My suspicion about the BowlAmerica where I bowl now is that the owners, or upper managers, are too far removed from the running of the alley. The guys behind the counter don't seem to care about the equipment, or customers for that matter.

lol our bowling alley has a bouncer, you do something your scores a invalid for the night you are escorted out of the bowling alley for any misconduct, so if you kick, punch, throw or damage anything (you can add cursing out loud) you will be warned or thrown out depending on how bad it is.

Funniest Ive seen was one of the public decided he should have had a strike and he swung his foot towards the pins. His shoes were house shoes and not tied properly. His shoe came off and flew down the opposite lane.
He had to get one of the technicians to go and fetch it.

Second best was my brother. Hes a short guy only just over 5 feet. He'd bowled all night and no matter how he threw it, he left a pin. Well he threw his last ball and was last on the lanes. He then walked down the lane with everyone watching and proceded to kick over every pin on the deck. It looked so funny with his little legs no bigger than the pins, kicking them all over. I know it was done in jest but he was mad....
Also good job the lights and pinsetters were switched off.

Worst display of bad sportsmanship was when one of the players who won the doubles league was playing bottom of the league. The lady from the bottom team only needed a spare to win the game and the overall score for a big shock. She was on the lane just starting her approach when he picked up both his balls and dropped them on the concrete floor from shoulder height, behind her making a huge bang.
Luckily she picked up the spare. Bad sportsmanship at its best.

Takes a real sport to take it out on or blame an inantimate object for your own mistakes. I'd laugh if one of these idiots broke thier ankle or toe doing this. I'd probally have to withdraw due to the laugh cramps.

The only person I saw pitch a real fit for missing a ten pin and whacking the ball return glared at ME like I did something wrong (I was waiting my turn to bowl).

I said "You're a grownup throwing a rock at a bunch of sticks.  Put your big boy pants on and just BOWL!"

Oddly enough, he never looked my way again the rest of the tournament

I find all of this stuff funny, especially the guy who urinated on the lane, thats really crazy.  I don't have anything that weird or funny, but once, I saw this kid flag the cut at a tournament and rip his collared shirt walking 20 pair right in the process.  Even better (I heard this, but never saw it) a very big and strong guy who averages 240 or so apparently threw a 16 lb bowling ball overhand when he was angry.  The best part is how strong the guy is, you could really see him get some speed on it.

funniest thing i have ever see was in anger by pure mistake. My freind was practicing at our home center for our highschool team, and he left a stone 10. Somebody previous mention throwing at the spare as hard as you can. Well thats what he decided to do. Well his hand just so happen to stick in the ball and it lofted roughly 40 feet in the air, hit the corner of the left gutter and bounced across the ball return, histhe camera and landed on the other lane. Center owenrs and out ocuch were not too happy
