For a short person like myself, 5'6" I could palm, well used to palm, a basket ball. That's why it amazes me to see shorter guys like myself bowl no thumb and keep the ball from dropping on the back swing. I tried this last night and I couldn't do it unless I used a 6 lbs house ball.

I've seen a no thumb bowler over the weekend and he had such smooth approach. Looking at the ball speed and ball reaction, you wouldn't think it came from this smooth, soft, looking bowler. Kinda like guys on radio, their looks don't match their voices.

It made me think of guys on tour. who on tour has a smooth approach?

Tom Daugherty is pretty smooth upon release. His approach no so much but hes very smooth coming out of the ball all the way thru to his follow thru.
