Title: Is this THE Eastway Lanes?
Post by: BrianCRX90 on May 21, 2006, 02:42:58 PM
Can someone tell me from this video I found on Putfile (never mind the poor bowling by the bowler) that this alley is the famous Eastway Lanes in Erie?
There was a time I was going to move to Erie just so I could bowl there. Or is this some other imposter Eastway Lanes. Thanks.

Looks to be the same place I remember as well.  Probably STILL one the best run / well maintained houses I have ever bowled.

Erie is legendary and so is that house. While it may be one of the easier carrying houses as I've heard and read over the years, it still has contained some of the best PBA stops. Bob Learn comes first to mind who has bowled great at the house along with Ron Palombi and Mike Machuga. I hope one day to visit Erie and bowl there...mabey even move there! I envy those that have bowled there or bowl league there.
PBA needs to make a commited return stop to that city and alley once again. Just not the same without an Eastway Lanes stop!

I've bowled there in the State and International Moose tournaments and it is an experience. You remove your shoes after you go through the front doors, they have some benches for you to remove your shoes, you can put on your bowling shoes or walk thru in your socks, no bare feet. They have the coolest pro shop that I've ever been in. I didn't bowl great when I was there, but not too bad.
