Middle finger hurting! What is the cause?

Good morning bowling family,
I am a two hander and all of a sudden my middle finger on the knuckles (Proximal interphalangeal joint). I notice that the ring finger was small so I had my pso give me bigger finger tips.
Is it since that the ring finger wasn't fitting that most of the ball weight was on the middle finger causing it to hurt and swell. Or is my release(hand shake) is wrong.

I am not a two-hander so don't quote me on this, as I am just relaying an experience I had.

Whenever I have had the aches or swelling on my middle finger and joint, it was because my span was too long, and as compensation for that length, I gripped the ball too tightly, thus placing a lot of the ball's weight on that one digit.

After a number of games being thrown......soreness and pain would set in.

Good question! Of course you are also making the assumption that all two-handers do not use a thumbhole!

first, I would suggest a visit to your doctor.  you may just have an injured finger that requires some healing.

You giving the middle to much tension with the ball, all the tension are on the middle finger.
