I overheard someone at the lanes saying symmetrical cored balls work better for those with a low track, short PAP less than 4"...any truth to this statement?

Hard to say. Asyms can be more condition specific for any style. I would guess that for extremely low or high tracks the layout might be more important on asyms than on symmetrical.

Actually itd be closer to the opposite, low trackers have way more versatility when it comes to layouts. The other stats and ball design will play a bigger factor and answer the question better. Generally a lower track player can get a ball through the front part of the lane a little better from my understanding so they can throw more asyms and keep them on the lane.

I think it would have less to do with track and more with what overall look you want to see from a ball. Every variable (revs, speed, etc) contributes to what layout would, and that's the beauty and ugliness of bowling ball technology. Which has more versatility? That question was thrown out when radical dropped a ball that could be drilled either way
