Last year VS This Year

Last year was my frist year bowling i bowled great 200 avg always getting a decent 600 even 773 on my best night with a 298 ! Our monday night team won frist place, nothing could go wrong. THis year i cant even hit a 500 series my avg is 20 pins lower i cant hit the pocket, i am lost ! A guy on monday night was teaching me when we won, i bowl with him this year too it seems like i took to much info from to manypeople. What should i do i dono how to start back at square 1. cuz idont know how i bowled back then. ANy advice is greatly appricated.

If you can't hit a 500 series this year and your average is 20 pins less than last year, then you didn't have a 200 average last year of which I doubt anyhow with it being your first year of bowling as you say.

Well, thats kind of rude, i pick things up very fast and to be completly accurate it was 195 and if u dont belive me ill give u my USBC number so u can see for ur self. I am just in a slump and was bowling ok this year nothing great buy my avg was 184 and i just threw a 494. it sucks but i cant figure out what im doing right.

Are averages for other bowlers at your center down also?  It's possible the house is putting out a more difficult oil pattern.  With your minimal experience and the good average you carried, I'm guessing you put a lot of revs on the ball and were "bouncing" it off a strong dry outside area.  If that strong dry area's not there this year, you probably don't know how to adjust.  As with a lot of problems, the answer is coaching plus a lot of practice.  --  JohnP

yes other peoples avg's are down too, there were a ton of 300s thrown for a while there. not any more. thank you for for the help
