KNOW IT ALL

There is a post on here that refers to them. But my question is how many people have had to deal with them and how did you rectify having them tell you everything that you have done wrong.

I know a guy who is a decent bowler at best. If there is oil out there, he can not hit anything. But yet, he tries to tell everyone what they are doing wrong. And you can be sure that he is going to tell you about his 300 that he shot. Everytime someone says something to him about trying something, he has to say, WELL I SHOT A 300, HAVE YOU, and it gets stupid.

Now whenever I get a chance to bowl him, I just have to beat him. And I usually do 2 out of 3 games, but I still can not get him to shut up.

How do you all deal with KNOW IT ALLS?

FWIW, there are some that fall in the category of not bowling for crap but that notice issues with others (the whole 'those that can, do...those that can't, teach' thing).

I just ignore them. I had one on my team once and i would just tell him leave me alone and go bowl.
  I know we had a guy that would tell the ladies in our mixed league how to bowl. I told him to leave my wife alone or you will eat your ball.

ask about how he breaths during the approach, that would screw up his game unless he already know how to do it properly

Ok, there is a simple answer to this problem.

Start telling him what he is doing wrong! and only state the overly obvious.

If he missed the pocket, say "Wow, you really let that one go, try moving over to the right..." Tell him some B.S. "Say, I've noticed your balance with your slide foot is really off" Every time he critiques you, throw one right back. After about 10 mins. He'll leave you alone.

God I hate when people do that.  It is different if someone is asking for help, friend of mine use to do that really badly.  We all ganged up on him and made comments that he knew was wrong and just laughed about it.  Eventually he got the ideal that we where making fun of him and he stopped.  At least he didn't make the I shot 300 comment though.  If I where you and he made that comment to me I would laugh in his face and tell him congratulations wanna cookie and then walk away.

Thanks for all the posts. I think I shut him up tonight though. I shot a 220 for my first game. Then he was telling me that I was standing the wrong spot, shooting the wrong mark, throwing the wrong speed. So the second game I did exactly what he said and shot a 172. "See, not everyone can bowl like you, so leave me the hell alone and let me bowl MY game." I then shot a 211 doing what I normally do. Now I just hope that he will leave me alone...
