League loud mouth
« on: April 14, 2016, 06:31:31 AM »
All season this guy has been yelling after shots...Not only at his own shots but other peoples....on other lanes...on other teams. People have told him all year to calm down. It seems the more people say something to him, the louder he gets. The other night was the last straw...I finally told him "you have to shut the F up, its way over the top and enough already". .....Keep in mind this is ALL year and its a mixed league...the woman and men in the league have all talked to him...some nicely and others not so nice. What would you guys do?

Telling a guy to his face to "shut the F up" is asking for a fight.  Since you didn't state you fought, I can only assume you lucked out....this time.  The point being I would have spoken to him in a serious manner about his antics, but not in a way like you did that could end badly. I know I personally would not take that statement to my face from anybody.
So did it "calm" the guy down, or not?

This guy is a jerk and not the fighting type...He will antagonize people but when push comes to shove he is like a little girl. So, no, we did not get into a fight. His response was..."its not that big a deal." What really set me off was that I was in the back swing of a shot in the 10th frame and I hear "OHHHHHH" on the tops of his lungs.

League should have a sgt at arms to first address the issue. If it continues the president and others should then address it. The proprietor should also be notified and if need be after these warnings removed from the league. Team captains may have to vote on it but the proprietor can do it without any vote etc.
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

OP, one way to look at it is to sit back and look through the lens of a psychologist.  This person is SO desperate for attention he has to resort to things like this.  If that is not the case then he truly, for some reason, cannot control his impulsive "schtick".

What I'm saying is, sometimes it's nice to sit back silently and be thankful you aren't like that.  He has everyone in the league telling him to stop but...........for ______ reason, he won't or can't.  That's sad.   Even sadder is the fact he brings everyone else down too.  It's one thing to have issues, it's another to bring everyone else down too.

Mean, I know, but when a douche is being a douche.......understand the reasoning.  He has frontal cortex issues.

We have a guy like that in our league so every time we bowl them I get in his face and start before he can start. For some reason he keeps pretty quiet most of the day.

WOW! So sensitive we are.

None of you guys could last a week in the Monday Nite league I bowl in. Not only do we have a "yeller/screamer" also.....it's a girl!!! She does it every week, and we all laugh and have gotten used to it.

Not only that, we have at least three or four teams that have their own chants, that can be heard by all, up and down the lanes, especially if the whole team strikes!

This is not your regular Mom and Pop league for sure! I believe all you guys would quit after a week! LOL!

Some days you're the bug....some days you're the windshield...that's bowling!

This year is almost over. I would just deal with him until the league is over and then make a motion to have him removed at the end of year meeting. I'm sure that you'll get a majority vote if he's that bad.
