In everyone's opinion how will leagues do this year? Will they be able to survive and will they be unsanctioned or sanctioned and what leagues are you joining?

I'm bowling in two leagues same as last year. Both are USBC sanctioned. I would quit if they were not.
League one is in a house that was recently bought by Bowlero (along with 2 other houses in town going to Bowlero). We are still bowling but the number of teams (5 person) is down at least 3 teams. The house use to add $5000 to the league prize fund and that has been cut in half to $2500 and the season has been extended from 32 to 34 weeks.
League two is in a none Bowlero house. We had 12 teams last year and are currently slated to have 16. There is another league in the house at the same time that has expanded as well from 8 teams to 16. Most of the growth is from Bowlero houses.

Bowl in a Bowlero. Many teams leaving to bowl in non-Bowlero centers. Our league had 7 teams last season. We almost had 8 full teams this season, but we are back to 7 and that was a legit struggle. We had people that said they would bowl, then backed out or went radio silent. Bowlero told us in order for our league to continue to receive a contribution to the prize fund, the league had to be the same size or larger than last season. There were a few weeks where we thought that wouldn't happen.
Bowlero is going to the LeaguePals platform for the fall leagues which might be a real mess. No more league secretary dot com standings. Online or via the app only. Senior leagues will hate this. The house also told us no more using the house for treasurer or secretary tasks, so that falls solely on the leagues. Recap sheets will be single page, no more multi copy recap sheets...if anyone wants a copy of the recap they will have to go to the counter and request a copy. Lots of little changes that will take some getting used to but cause havoc in the interim.

I bowl two leagues; one is in a non-Bowlero house, while the other is in a travel league. We should have the same amount of teams in the non-Bowlero league, but that may change depending on how many decide to bolt from the 3 Bowlero houses we have.
Additionally, my kids are staying in their non-bowlero youth league, as there is essentially only one house in the area with youth leagues (at least that I am aware of; there is one being held after school on Tuesdays, but that's mainly going to be for the highschoolers which are definitely being scouted by colleges.. my kids are 12 and 10, so no where in that league yet).
As for the travel league, it does go to a couple of Bowlero houses, so it remains to be seen as to what will happen there. We are slated to get about 4-6 additional teams from the Bay Area to join that league, so we may extend the range for where we travel.. Most of the alleys are in the Sacramento or foothills of the Sierras area, but if those from the bay join us, we may end up going further west. It all depends.
But right now, I think that the next couple of weeks will tell a lot regarding Bowlero's League Certification Program.

I don't know how much to change to expect country wide, but I don't know how big Bowlero really is. I did a search and found 1 Bowlero and 4 AMF houses within 100 miles of me. Nothing has changed in my area. No one is talking about doing unsanctioned leagues. I'm joining a second league for the first time in about 5 years.

Doing one sport shot league at one of the local chain centers. We got a couple AMFs but I didn't see sport shot on their list. Seems like a missed opportunity -- PBA Leagues, PBA patterns.
Oh well. Still think PBA should have added C-tier local tournaments instead of leagues.

Subbing only and bowling tournaments as much as possible.
There are no competitive leagues and 32 to 36 weeks of socializing gets old after about 18-20 weeks

I took a couple years off and got into 1 league last year and really enjoyed it. One of my old teams decided to get back to it, so I'll be bowling 2 leagues again. I am looking forward to it. I need to get out of my house or I'll lose my mind :)

I'm doing 2 leagues this fall in a non-Bolero house, a 4-man and a trios, both sanctioned and both competitive. Another nearby non-Bolero house just shut down, so I'd expect the leagues here to pick up some bowlers or teams that want to keep bowling.
