Title: Local ABT has this.......is my math right?
Post by: xrayjay on April 27, 2017, 06:06:45 PM
Entering averages will be determined at 93% of the bowler’s USBC highest single season average in the last 3 years.  Handicap is calculated at 70% the difference of 205..

So a 200 average bowlers will have 13 sticks
Bowler 2: 170 av. bowler will have 33 sticks

anyone over 206 and up is scratch.

220 ave. x .93 = 204.6 (round up to 205)   there is your scratch threshold.

200 ave. x .93 = 186     (205 - 186 = 19) x .7 = 13.3 hdcp

170 ave x .93 = 158  (205 - 158 = 47) x .7 = 32.9 hdcp

So, yeah, I agree with you on your math.

There is usually no rounding when these calculations are done.  Fractions of pins get dropped off.  32.9 would be 32 pins, for example.
