Lol, interesting problem at the bowling alley
« on: February 27, 2008, 02:09:29 AM »
So the local high class establishment (and for once, I'm not being sarcastic, it's the nicest house in town) has a problem.  The Pepsi guy paid them a visit yesterday and managed to screw everything up.  How he did it, they still don't know, because it really makes no sense.  Since he came, all the water now has club soda in it.  Everywhere.  The water fountains, water faucets, toilets, everything.  It's probably not his fault, because I don't see how club soda could get into the main water supply . . but it's there.  They had to go get gallons of water so the lane guy could run the lanes, lol, because the oil needs to have water mixed in.  Lol, even club soda ice cubes . .  They're getting it fixed today, but it's kind of a big problem.  Anybody hear of anything like that?

Wow. I'm a plumber, and never seen anything like that before. In order for all the fixtures have club soda mixed in, something must be tied directly into the water main in the building.

I'd suggest they find out where they are cross connected, and put in a backflow device.

Ha-HA. Sounds like somebody's smokin the doobs again. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Pepsi has got pretty rock solid tapping systems. Water comes in, gets charged with co2, and goes to the gun(dispensing unit). Push a button and both carbonated water and soda syrup mix together as they come out of said dispensing unit. From that point, I cant see how it could re-enter the main water system. Ummm....it's on it's way into your glass. Besides.... even if it could happen, like jessN16 says, any syrup or co2 tank would empty pretty quickly. Somebody better call the city about their cruddy water!

Lol, not really, but that's all I heard.  The Pepsi guy was there, screwed some stuff up that put the pop machine in the snack bar out of commission, and then coincedently club soda got mixed in with the water supply for the entire building.  I REALLY hope it was club soda though, cause if not, I don't want to know what the hell I was drinking . .  I'll see if I can get the whole story.
