Looking for ball and layout suggestion
« on: April 21, 2008, 06:31:52 PM »
I am looking for something that gets easy length, reads the mids well, and has a strong arc on the end, no flippy stuff.  Stats are in my profile.  Shoot away with  suggestions.  I may do a solid and a pearl both.  I am open to any company.
Thanks

From what I've read a Twisted Fury with a strong drilling might be the ticket.  I know the coverstock provides instant length and most Big B stuff read the mids well and isn't real flippy, with the exception of a few of their releases anyway.

Ah just noticed you already have one lol.  It doesn't do what your'e looking for here?

With your arsenal, I'm surprised you don't have something that fits that bill.  Just looking at your stuff, I'd say the Cell pin down, and the Gravity Shift/Ultra Zone would fit the ticket you're looking for.  But as for stuff you don't have, I would say maybe give the Fury and Fury Pearl a look see?  My league is plagued with them, and they are great compliments and very smooth off the spot.

Thanks for the replies so far.  I have a couple that are close but just not quit what I am looking for, the Gravity and Bite are probably the closest.  The Bite is  more angular than and the Gravity is too strong on the back.  The Twisted, even with the pin down, jumps off the dry pretty hard.  Dont get me wrong, I like all these balls and they have their purpose, but I am looking to fill this "hole" however small it may be.  I am still playing with surface on the Ultra Zone and havent quite got a reaction I like from it.

I have a buddy that is going to buy the Gravity and I'll replace it with another, just a different layout.  I am also drilling up a Momentum with 6x4 pin up layout and a Rival with a 5x3 pin down, so maybe one of those will fit.  I'll have to keep the Fury's in mind if these dont work.

i'm with kidjete on this one......  definately go with the twisted fury...  i have one drilled 5x4 pin above my ring  finger   no x hole.....  ball clears the heads with ease  and has a nice arc to the pocket..  it doesnt snap like alot of pearls do.......   give it a shot u wont be dissapointed.........

another option would be a visionary gladiator drilled with a 4-5 in pin to pap distance u will want to take the ball up to 4000 abralon if you go with the gladiator

I find that the gamebreaker to be a a very curvy of the dry with a strong backend continuation. The coverstock and V2 core is an excellent combination. As for pearls the momentum would be my choice. just my $.02
