Title: Looking for some input on www.brunsnick.com *updated 10-5*
Post by: BrunsNick on October 03, 2006, 07:21:01 AM
*UPDATE 10/4* -- Starting to get everything online with the new layout...

I've decided to run this layout, and have adopted it to the Arsenal section of my page. www.brunsnick.com

-------------------------------------------------------------

Here's a new layout I've been fiddling with yesterday, a little more simple and clean. Anyone with some input for content or design?

EDIT: changed a few things and made a new layout site...

www.brunsnick.com/
(if you click on some of the links in the nav bar, it will redirect to the "old" website)

Chris,

The ads aren't an issue, just the location of them.

I have no problem with the ads.  Google ads are not bad.  Certainly not an eyesore like in the past.  I agree about being on the right, tough.

As for the all-Flash site, I much prefer it the way it is now.  Not that you can't make a good Flash-based site, they are out there, but you can't link to them properly, they don't properly respect user's preferences for fonts, sizes, and layouts, and it's usually difficult to highlight or copy text.  You might think that the designer's preferences should be paramount but you couldn't be more wrong.

Nice and clean BrunsNick, it's easy to navigate in my opinion.  I don't even see the ads because I'm using the Firefox browser and the adblock extension.  Right on shelly about flash, we Linux users really detest it.

BRO,

It looks better. It's cleaner.

You need to put pictures of natty ice on it though.

AAckley, definitely interested in ideas. Not certain about the direction or presentation I'd like to use for future videos.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!

I am going to tinker with the layout some more, see if I can figure out some more stuff.

www.brunsnick.com/newlayout.html

Updated with the ads on the right, and some other misc tweaks. Trying to keep things simple, once everything is okay as far as design, i'll implement them to the other sections of the site.

Also, I've talked to Krista, she said that she might be interested in having a section of her on my website, showing some pics, videos, and stuff. I'll need some dynamite feedback and support to undertake that project

Yeah the new design is definitely a lot better.

I am seeing ads on the side but there aren't ads on the old site?
