The hardest hooking ball ever ?
« on: June 06, 2005, 02:20:05 AM »
Assuming all factors were the same (drilling, span, pin  placement ect..)

What is the all-time hardest hooking ball ever ? What ball would cover the most boards ?

Also depends on lane condition... throw a high load particle ball on a dry lane, maybe slowly, and you will never get it into the pocket. You might even never get it to touch a single pin? Difficult question, though.

I guess I'm not really talking about a skid/snap, but a overall "hook"...

Oskuposer: You talking about this ?

The original solid Thunder I think was black. That's the one with the MOnster Flare but assuming the core is the same the Blue would be more angular.

That's the same core the PDW I have sitting here has in it too :-)

Hmmm, then my personal favorite in my arsenal is Ebonite's Xxcel - a review is coming up when initial tests are finished. My Xxcel is drilled for length and a sharp recation, and THIS is what I got. Hell of a ball! I suppose that with a earlier reaction drilling the new Xcel balls can be played from one gutter to the other and recover to blast the pocket (if you want to... I do not consider this to be a preferrable reaction, but6 for the show...).
Very strong stuff!

And a friedn of mine has a Predator Red Sanded: Another hook monster from Ebonite, only playable on heavy or fresh oil, which will march across the lane if need should be.
