Magic Carpet??

How many of you use this?

It says it takes the place of 3 pieces of tape, is that true?

I am working to get my site www.bowl4fun.com back up but sometimes it takes a while to get through.

Thumbhole size:
I have found that most bowler's thumbholes have room for the Carpets so don't go opening up the thumbhole until you see if there is room or not.

If anyone would like to try a free sample just send me an email with "free sample" in the subject line. I am running a few days behind right now so don't expect the free sample in tomorrows mail but I will get them out as fast as I can.

Bowl great!

I personally didn't like the texture or the feel.

With this said....

I have put it in quite a few balls for customers and they had no complaints.

Works very well with oval holes...

I tried it in the past. My thumb swells and shrinks ALOT, so I figured I'd give it a try. I actually liked the feel of it. You can really tighten up the hole and still get a nice clean release.
The problem for me was that my thumb still changed too much for even the Magic Carpet to overcome. I had to add all my tape to the front of the hole to make up the difference, and taping the front as much as I need to, changes the span as I add or subtract tape.

If I could figure a way to easily remove the Magic Carpet to add and subtract tape from under it, I'd love to go back to using it. Or if my thumb stayed a more consistant size.

I have used it off and on over the past 7 years or so. One time I sort of like it and the next time I don't etc. Maybe I don't stay with it long enough to learn to like it full time, I don't know. I do carry a few pieces in my bag and still stick it in a ball now and then and when I do run out, I order more to carry in my bag....lol

I tried the Magic Carpet once.  It wasn't for me, since I did not like the texture.  I don't even like white tape, actually.  A very smooth thumbhole and Hada patch on the back of my thumb (with a few thin strips of black tape strategically placed around the oval in my thumbhole) is the best feel I can get.  However, I was impressed with how the Carpet worked, but it just didn't fit my game.

now that everyone is sharing their story... here goes:
my local driller is a bit lazy about oval thumbholes and the round ones simply do not work for me... so I simply but some grip tapes on the backside and the magic carpet on top and there it was... nice snug fit and the benefits from the carpet:
ventilation
slick but tacky when needed..

and on my newer balls I even do not have to put tape under the carpet.

My thumb swells during the games a bit and gets smaller again... kinda strange.... first the thumb is too big... then the hole is too big... the carpet even that out.

and I also learned to let the ball of the thumb clean!

try it... if you do not like it I promise you will find enough people here to take the surplus pieces

My thumb does that to a degree as well.  Well, unless I'm bowling 6+ games.  My thumb will swell back up after that!
