Always Watch Your Backswing!

So I stopped by All Star Bowling and Trophy to see my buddies Joe and Mark O'Connell and have them punch up a couple balls for me.  While getting fitted, I picked up the ole' tried and true fitting ball and took a practice swing, right into the edge of a metal door frame!  (I do want to point out it was my fault)

Since I hit it while performing my backswing motion, I struck the frame with my index finger.  Sliced it wide open and may have nicked the tendon.  Have to see a hand specialist on Monday.

So always know your surroundings when you're getting fitted or warming up!

Ouch!  It's amazing the damage you can do while performing the simplest of things.

Double ouch!  That is one nasty looking injury.  Amazing how many times a simple oversight can lead to such things.  Thanks for the warning and hopefully you haven't suffered a major injury.

triple ouch...... just...... wow...... sucks cuz..............sorry for you. atleast it happened during the summer so its not during the full swing of winter league season.

Damn.... I hope there's nothing major wrong with it.  Hopefully a couple weeks of stitches, neosporin, and gauze will fix it.  On the subject, I have a bowling friend that refuses to grate cheese for his wife.  Ever since finding this out a few years back, I always think twice before putting the mozzarella to metal!  Feel better!

I posted this on Facebook and still feel it was the worst day ever in the pro shop. Went from that giddy excited feeling of helping someone possibly achieve new levels in his game to rendering half assed first aid and packing his stuff up to send him off to the ER.

Fleezy take care of that thing and get in to the specialist. Hopefully it isn't too serious and we can get ya back out soon to punch those balls up. Excited about the possibilities of the grip changes for you and the balls you selected. People come before profits for us so your price has gone down too....we will take good care of you to offset some of the medical expenses.

And don't feel too bad, I have done the same thing before just never caught a hard metal edge. Usually a table at the bowling alley or the counter in the back room. And we did put some padding on that door frame.....crazy thing....it never COULD have happened if you bowled with the correct hand. ;)
