Polyurethane VS Vinyl thumb slugs
« on: August 22, 2017, 10:35:47 AM »
Is there any noticeable difference between polyurethane and vinyl thumbs slugs?

Any issues with vinyl in a Turbo Switch Grip?

Preference per bowler. For me, vinyl slugs tend to be too slick, then at times feel tacky, I just don't like it.

Urethane slugs have smoother slower feel/release and easier for me to work with. but, that's just me. I haven't used vinyl in 16 years... I went from no slug, tried the vinyl and within a month went to urethane slugs.

Same here. I prefer the urethane, but it is personal preference. I have 2 vinyl slugs in Turbos right now that I find occasional use for. There's no problem.

If you have really dry skin, vinyl will probably be to your liking.

If it gets hot & humid where you live, Viynl Slugs can heat up and get tacky. They are also softer, so it's not as easy to tweak the holes after drilling with a bevel knife.
