Low tilt and hooking headswould
« on: December 27, 2018, 04:41:30 AM »
Sometimes I have nights where the ball wants to check up at the heads and the only option is something polished even though there is plenty of oil down lane. Basicly been playing with asymmetrical stuff at the moment with a 5 in pin to pap. would a better choice be a 3 in pin to pap?
The harder I try the harder they fall

Layout isn't going to help you get it thru the heads. So are the heads on fire and the backends tight, or is the ball double hooking? What happens when you move left to where you can catch some head oil?

I would'd call it hooking in the heads and rolled out. one at 2k and one that is finished with a worn 4k pad.
I'm probably way off here but considering a pin away core asym the low rg contours are at the bottom and high rg at the top by the pin. so a ball drilled 70x5.25x30 will have the axis closer to the low rg plane as opposed to a ball with the 3 inch pin to pap.
the ball with the 5 inch pin to pap would roll faster and the axis would also migrate faster to the spin line then the 3 inch pin to pap ball. that and a good matching cover, perhaps a sanded pearl as opposed to a sanded solid would give me the look.

moving deeper did not help as the balls were still hooking in the heads and had nothing to turn the corner. Keep in mind the same balls were used last week with no changes other then a cleaning in the same house with the same pattern and I had zero issues and shot well.

You need less cover. Consider an After Dark Pearl. That should get you thru the heads. If the heads are fried, 2000 is way way too much.
