PBA Regional - Fort Smith, AR
« on: September 16, 2011, 11:01:48 PM »
I'm traveling near Fort Smith for business and thinking of bowling the regional there next week.  Anybody know anything about it?  Is that a good tournament?

Great center. I had plans of being there, but not back to full speed from some back issues this summer. Whether its a regional or the Southern, has to be one of the top places that I like to bowl tournaments. With the Chetah being put out the scoring will be high. Last time I bowled that one they had the 43 ft pattern out and we still could play outside  5 early on both sides. I would recommend bowling it if you have the chance.

Oh and if you have not been to that center. It is huge. The bowlers area is larger than most centers concourse and they still have a large concourse. Always have strong pro-ams and treated us really well.

Hi, Tex.  Good to hear from you again.  We messaged earlier in the year about you and your teammates breaking down the shot at nationals.  Glad you mentioned the pro-ams.  That's what I was thinking of bowling in if I get the opportunity.  Not quite good enough to bowl at the regional level just yet--still a wannabe.

Do any of your teammates from nationals bowl regionals, too, or just you?

There are two of us that have our cards. The other guy is a multi-time regional champion, me just a wannabe myself. Only a single cash at the PBA regionals. Multiple amatuer titles but nothing against those guys. Between a flare up of my back issues this summer and the dollars. This one didn't make sense this time. I will be at Richardson if all goes according to plan. The tournament in Ft Smith is a great event. This year it is a super regional and with no tour at this time, should have plenty of big names out there to watch and maybe cross with in the ProAm.

I actually am from the fort smith area and bowl league at the center hosting the regional. If you have any questions you can ask me. This is actually a super regional with both midwest/southwest. Most of the big boys will be in korea next week from what I understand.

First I heard about Korea. That's a bit of info I would like to have had a few days ago. Not that I would have changed my mind, but something to consider. Never have shot under in any event at that center and last three regionals I have competed in was on Cheetah. Love bowling in Ft. Smith and will be there for the Southern next spring.

Tex--Thanks for the info.  Hope your back gets better soon and you're able to bowl Richardson.

Rayvnfox--I appreciate the offer.  At this point I'm not sure if I'm going to have time to bowl, but If I do I may check back with you.
