Missing the cut . .
« on: November 06, 2003, 10:45:54 AM »
Notables this week were Brad Angelo, Mike Haugen, Tommy Delutz, Walter Ray, and Mike Scroggins.  I think Scroggins surprised everybody by making three shows in a row, so that should earn him a bunch of credit and make it noteworthy that he actually missed the cut.  I'm the most shocked at Angelo, I can't imagine him bowling that badly.  Haugen and Delutz have also been bowling too well this year for them to miss the cut so early.  It's been a shocker all year that Walter's been doing so poorly, but I'm pretty sure we can count on all these guys to make a decent showing the rest of the year.

Chris Johnson, Jeff Carter, Tim Penner, and Nathan Bohr were a few that made the cut that I hope to see a good showing out of.  Tim and Nathan were Wichita State bowlers, so that's why I mentioned them, same state kind of thing.  Of course there are Lonnie Waliczek and Chris Barnes too, I was just mainly acknowledging some of the lesser known bowlers.  I'll quit rambling now . .

There are some real shockers in this list:

73, Ryan Shafer, Elmira, N.Y., 1,871
87, Parker Bohn III, Jackson, N.J., 1,852
89, Walter Ray Williams Jr., Ocala, Fla., 1,848
102, (TIE) Tommy Delutz Jr., Flushing, N.Y.
104, (TIE) Brad Angelo, Lockport, N.Y.
Michael Haugen Jr., Victorville, Calif., 1,823
123, Tim Mack, Garfield, N.J., 1,783
129, Mike Scroggins, Amarillo, Texas, 1,773
133, Brian Voss, Alphretta, Ga., 1,768
138, Norm Duke, Clermont, Fla., 1,763

Duke may still be recovering from whatever injury (bad back?) forced him to miss the past two weeks, but Delutz, Angelo, Haugen and Scroggins have been on fire lately.  Surprising to see all of them miss the first cut.

As for WRW and Parker... what can you say?  WRW is in a 5-week slump, but Parker's slump extends back to last year.  He'd better get on his horse, or he's gonna get stuck in the barn.
