Mixed league rant...

So I subbed last night in a mixed league...Mostly drinkers, straight bowlers and a good team here and there..

Anyway on are pair we had 7 (total) straight plastic throwers...Right down the middle (pretty much, lol)

Check out this set:

262-135-132

First game everything was going great...After all that plastic moved the oil down, I was screwed !

Needless to say I will never sub in that, nor any mixed "fun" league !

Seems like I just tossed my $5 right out the window

Damn straight bowlers !

Ok this is expected from a mixed league.  Common sense will tell you if you have a bunch of people throwing plastic balls down the lane that they will carry down the oil.  Duh 219 average bowl should know this already.  Oh wait I forgot he is only a 219 average bowler cause he only bowls when the shot benefits him.  Man are you pathetic.  I agree with shelley's comment, league is better off without a whinner like you around.  Grow up.

However, I wanted to point out that if you're throwing the Ice and a Gyro that I saw on your page, they're not plastic balls (so welcome to the reactive age!)

It doesn't matter if you throw 'em straight or hook the snot out of 'em, the one who knocks down the most pins wins.  Every time.

A bowler should simply adjust to what ever condition they are bowling on whether it be THS, Sport or anything in between!

I see you people had fun with this topic while I was on business for the week weekend.

All you mixed leaguers, have "fun" and bowl...

All you sport-shot people have your "fun" and bowl....

and last but not least, all you THS people, have FUN and avg high!

I never thought that this topic would hit so many people where it hurts !

..but not matter what anybody says, you know most bowlers are looking to HOOK the ball more, lol

Some of us can and some of us can't...Don't be upset that you can't !

i guess im just stating what everyone else said but i think its kinda sad that you automatically put this league on the back burner just because you didnt bowl a 600 series. imo you choked. it doesnt matter if other bowl straight or how they bowl, if you are that confident on your abilities by signing off on this league because of the other inferior bowlers and their styles, then you should be experienced enough to be able to modify your shot to still bowl within the reach of a 600. if you dont, stop looking for ways to blame it on other elements. ive bowled a 639 one week, then went back the next week and found the lane to completely bone dry. my ball would hook into the gutter half way down the lane. i ended up using my plastic spare ball and it would still have a massive hook, but i had to adjust. sure i bowled less then what i was hoping for, but i dont stop going to that alley because of one misfortune. (it was open bowling, not a league)

just my $0.02

Shot 689 and had a bunch of beer and my woman was looking good in those tight jeans.


May I assume seeing that you shot 689, that no one was spraying plastic all over the lanes to mess up your shot?

Fireguy, nice set.

My Mixed league starts at 7PM, tonite, followed by MNF, I can't wait.  I love Monday nites, however, Tuesday mornings are usually he!! for me, but they're worth it.

To be honest, when I posted this last week, I was just looking see what other people say when they run into something unexpected....

Well, now I've got an idea why you didn't show up for the Orlando get-together.  Sounds like you are a one house, one line bowler.  Didn't want to show up and embarrass yourself if your shot wasn't there.
