Which one should I get?
« on: August 09, 2015, 11:35:28 AM »
After more than 5-years with my Lane #1 Massacre, I've decided to get a new ball.
The problem is how do I decide which ball suits me?  Someone recommended for medium-heavy lane to go for Ebonite-Warrior or Columbia-Urge.

Reading the ball reviews, they are always positive and good. For example in bowlingball.com -

Warrior - Length and Strong Continuation, "aggressive polished ball that reads the mid lane then has a continuous backend with a hard hitting power then this is the ball you are looking for".
Urge - explosively angular, "this ball has good length but rolls very heavy once it starts the hook motion. I was very impressed with the continuation after the hook phase. A lot of times when a ball has such a strong midlane read, you'll encounter over/under once the oil starts to push down. I didn't experience this at all with the Urge."

I am aged 56, low rev bowler who does not have a big hook.
Any honest opinion of the above two will be much appreciated.

I bowl in the senior singles league once a week and the lanes are medium.  Not sure about the oiling pattern as I did not ask :P.
my average is 160 which has been stagnant for these few years.  :-\
I've gone to using wrist support which I find good improvement and stability now.
Thanks.

+1 for JustRico
A place that knows your lanes and can watch you bowl is the best bet
Have a price point in mind, if its $200 bucks or $150, stick to it, there are lots of options out there.
Im an EBI guy, like all lines, there are "lower performance" prices, work just as well for the most part.
One of my favorite pieces right now is the Ebonite Gamebreaker2, its $115.00
great performance for a great price
