Was talking to some of my pro shop drillers about this yesterday. Anybody out there try this, or use these?
I have had great success with turning dud balls into great all around pieces, just by adding this.

I've been really anxious to try a Motion Hole. I've got plenty of duds... :) No driller around here seems to believe in them though and no one wants to do the deal... Seems to be confusion around whether they work better for some than others, or symmetric vs asym... Will be following this thread to see what develops and would like to hear what you've had success with please....

I have used a MOtion hole on an original Yeti a great core and ball to try it on and Storm SuperNatural. Both have great ball motion for me. MOtion holes work on specific types of symmetrical cores. Generally drillers are afraid to drill them because they don't understand the tech part of it and worried about flaring over MOtion hole. Love it on my AMF Heist Pearl. Took one of the smoothest pearls I've ever thrown and turned it into a smooth strike machine. It brought the low RG out in the core but the tame cover makes sure it doesn't over react onces it encounters friction. Won money with that ball!

The MOtion hole in the SN helped it's weaker reaction at the pocket. But it didn't make it reactive-like at all. I found the SN surface 1500 polished or 4000 to be a bit too much squirrely on the house condition I bowl on. At 2500 to 3000 it's the best for me.

I was told that the Mo Hole works best on symmetrical pieces. I just happened to have an Azo Fantasy X, (the gold one) and all this ball did was skid...and skid some more. I changed the surface, taking it to 800; then 1000, and re-added polish. Ball still skidded long and hit like a marshmallow.
Had a Mo Hole placed in my ball and WHOOOPEE! Suddenly I have a very useable light oil and dry lane piece. My ball now has a very gradual but strong move downlane, but does not jerk, regardless of the amount of dry it sees.
I bowled with it last night with some very pleasing results. And get this.....I was bowling against Bobby Hall, (former PBA member) who has been in a slump lately. Bobby was using a green Yeti. He goes 225-300-278 !!!! for a real nice 803 set, and low and behold, the ball he's using has a Mo Hole in it. Now, with Bobby's skills, this may or may not be that important. But as I said......he had been in a slump lately. It was the first time, this season that he'd had his name announced. Hmm.
It works!

I'd agree that it does work. The only thing I haven't liked is it also helps the bowling ball to go further down the lane also. <sometimes too far for me> Other than that, I have seen it bring a few bowling balls back to life. Sym. it works better than assym. in my opinion.

As many have already said, the motion hole is better for the symetrical balls. My ball driller went to a Mo Pinel clinic and I had him drill me up a new arson low flare with the motion hole. he had me throw a bunch of shots and had to keep checking the flare so he good the hole as close to the track as possible. Results may vary based on placement I'm sure but compared to my original low flare, I was able to move in deeper and still carry. My original low flare was great but as I migrated left I would lose access rotation and carry. The low flare with the motion hole gave me a nice option and a different look with the same ball. A neat thing to play with but I wouldn't run out and drill them in every ball I own :)

Is this layout better with a certain lane condition?
Is it better for a certain type of ball, spec wise?
Is it better in a certain type of coverstock?
Is it better a certain type of ball shape?

I might consider adding one to my (burgundy) Ringer. The ball has way too much mid lane and rarely saves any pop for the back. I see the motion on my Yeti and would like something similar for the Ringer. The ball really allows me to open up the lane on the few conditions I can get enough push from it.

This might sound a little bit crazy but I decided to put a MO-Hole on my marvel S because I hated the ball motion I was getting but I hate plugging equipment. It was the best decision I have ever made. I can square up with it on fresh and I can move inside when the oil is gone. I also seen an increase in pin carry when I put it in there. Honestly if I wasn't rolling my IQ Fusion so well right now I would try it to see what it does in a hybrid. If you want something to hook more and carry more I would definitely recommend it

I have on on Wrecker and absolutely love the reaction. On slightly broken down lanes, I am able to move in and usually have unreal area. I have found that it doesn't seem to work real well on fresh conditions though... I seem to get over/under... this probably could be solved with surface change, but the ball rolls so well now, I don't what to change anything.
