My (almost) Lucky Sunday Tournament
« on: March 19, 2006, 04:05:42 AM »
So I decided to wake up today and go to a bowling tournament about 20 miles away.  I had 2 balls with me...Big Bang, Tropical Storm.  The Big Bang was flying, so I used the Tropical....well it was hitting hard, and hooking strong, and then the tournament started.

If I sped it up, it would die, if I threw it slow it was taking off.  Not just me but for everyone.  Then I found a shot and left everything on the back row at least twice.  I didn't cash, make the cut, or any of that.  A little bit of a bad shot was a washout, good shots wouldn't carry the 8 or 9...it was brutal.  I had 2 pocket 7-10's, and 2 pocket 6-8's.  It was rough.

Anyways...last night I won $20 in a small mixed league jack pot.  In the tournament office they were having a ball raffle.  I bought $15 worth because the 2 balls to choose from were the Storm Pyrp and The Scorchin' Inferno.  $15 got me over 100 tickets...I figured my shots would be decent to win.

I won  So for $15 I got the Scorchin' Inferno.  I planned on selling it, get bout $110 for it or what not and call it a day.  At the end of the tournament I went into the office to pick it up...and they told me, included in the raffle win is free drilling, including grips and slugs.  $15 total for a $230 retail ball...now that's a deal and a half.

I think I made the right choice by taking the Scorchin' over the Pyro...what do you guys think?

IMO, you did indeed. The Scorchin' is a Hell of a ball, and everybody should have one. You can tame it down with a weaker drilling, or really go at and take on the heavy conditions. Congrats on the win!
