consistency thru missing...
« on: November 08, 2007, 09:33:43 AM »
last practice i had few days ago, i had something rather funny happening to me

i started with warm up as usual, some balls here and there

then i proceed to try a good game... something that didnt come at all. i found myself missing few things that i went thru one by one

1- my steps are changing, i dont end up where i start anymore, no matter how i tried. but i found that im drifting about 2 boards left of my initial startin point, so i thought, thats still ok

2- backswing unstable, i wasnt swingin the ball on the normal path, but rather to the left, had to make lots of adjustments untill it felt comfortable

then the last but most important aspect...

i was missing my target, always by 2 boards...
it took me about 1 game to try something that eliminates it... i had to aim at the 8th board to make it go thru the 10th, or aim at 9 to make it go thru 11. and to be honest, i barely missed the intended board by a lot.

anyone had this kind of problems b4?

When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

I don't think it is unusual to miss by a couple of boards the trick is to know this and you have found this out and should help you quite a bit just need to remember by how many boards you miss by and aim at the target accordingly

I know that I usually miss my mark by 2 boards to the right of where I am shooting. If I shoot the 10, I usually hit the 8. So I have adjusted myself accordingly. If I want to hit the 10, I shoot for the 12.

As Riley said, I don't think it is unusual to miss by a couple of boards the trick is to know this and you have found this out and should help you quite a bit just need to remember by how many boards you miss by and aim at the target accordingly

So make the adjustment if you feel that you need to.

If the heads are really dry, the ball can hook a couple of boards before it gets to the arrows.  --  JohnP
