my center is reopening June 1st, any word on yours yet?
« on: April 21, 2020, 08:28:08 AM »
Just got an email from my leaague that our center is reopening June 1st. WE need to vote on weather to finish out the season or just call it a day and do payouts as is. How about your bowling center? Have they set a reopening date yet?

Got an e-mail today that Royal Pin centers in Indy are hoping to open and start summer leagues in early June. Between the economy being what it is and the fact that the coronavirus will still be around, I'll be curious to see what the turnout will be.

Have no idea.

My wife saw on Facebook where he took advantage of the shutdown though, and had the lanes and approaches completely resurfaced in anticipation of having a full slate of fall leagues.

Hope it all works out. If things are cleared up enough by fall, I’ll bowl, as long as I’m not risking the health of my wife by being there.

Got my fingers crossed. I miss getting to go. :(

That one has been so wrong it’s pitiful. And it keeps being cited. They can’t even come close on the next day when they update their modeling.

I tried, and that's the only one (map) I've found. Please post your better & improved map for those here to view, as I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated.

This is what I'm hoping most proprietors get to do. This downtime would be perfect for resurfacing the lanes, let alone replacing them. I know a certain proprietor who was given a stipulation for the PWBA tour to return to his house that he totally replace the lanes and approaches, because when he got the lanes in from another house that closed down, he didn't pair up the lanes with the approaches the way they were from the other house, so they were causing some physical issues with the bowlers. Now, he has the opportunity to rip all of it out and replace with new, otherwise the tour may not stop at his house again, and this was a tour stop that the ladies love and want to have.

I have three centers I bowl at.  #1 is Bowlero and I haven't heard any news either.  I don't expect much from them as I wait to hear the corporate response on re-opening. #2 is a privately owned center and I'm not sure how invested the owner is emotionally or financially.  I hope I get good news from that center, but I'm not counting on it.  #3 is the center at USMC base Camp Pendleton.  I expect news from that center before any other and it should be better than #1 or #2.

Realistically I expect NV to open before CA.  Maybe not the casino bowling alleys but some of the others.  if NV opens before CA I have no issues with driving 4 hours, bowling till my hearts content, and then driving right back another 4 hours.  I could easily see myself sleeping in the parking lot, bowling again the next morning and then driving home.

In the bag:  900 Global Zen, Hy Road Pearl, Astro Physix.

Around here we cannot drive to another state.  If you try to drive to another state, you are stopped at the border and told to turn around if you are non-essential.  If you must stay in that state, you are expected to self-quarantine for 14 days at your hotel (or for however long you have business in that state if less than 14 days.)

When I was in college this is type of stuff I would do. Now being an adult in age with a wife and other priorities I have a hard time driving 4 minutes to bowl.

I admire your dedication though.

Based on the latest reopening plan here in PA the gyms, movie theaters, bowling centers, etc. will not be permitted to reopen until we reach the final phase of statewide reopening where all mitigation processes are relaxed.  So based on that, we are not looking at any bowling until June or July.

The local bowling centers here *thought* they were going to be reopening in the next 2 weeks, but that plan has pretty much been thrown out the window.

Illinois just bumped the stay at home order to May 30. Y'all remember bowling? I do.

Will be able to bowl June at the earliest I think. That’s assuming things stay the same or get better.

NC Stay at Home is now May 8 statewide, and chances are the county will even go longer than the state does.

So gonna be a while...

Heard from the two leagues I bowl in and they plan to have a payout the first of June and start a new 7 week summer league at that time.  Then get back to a regular schedule in late August or early September.  Don't know if I want to chance it in June and it all depends on how things are going.  Since I'm a senior bowler with asthma I'll probably be a little more careful than most.  Also, last time I bowled I left ten ringing 10 pins and I'd like to get that out of my mind before I go back.  lol
