what is the best way to attack the shark pattern?

Never hurts to do a search.

The suggested way is deep inside, but keeping the break point near the pocket.  Several people (in the link) have had success playing straight down 10-12.  Your rev rate, the type of oil, the lane surface, and other factors will determine what will work.

Most guys do what Strider says with playing a straighter inside line with careful attention paid to speed control.  For me solid reactives matched up best around 1500 grit.  Releases with more forward roll are your friend on this one, too.
