lso have an AMF Dick Weber 5 Star Ball. Not sure when it came out, but I have the reactive green one. I've been told it was one of the first reactive balls produced, but I don't know how correct that is.

Incorrect.  First reactive was a NuLine Excalibur. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIjeL9D2P5E Next were Ebonite Turbo X's and C300 ProHooks and then katy bar the door.

Thanks for the info.  I hadn't taken the time to verify if that was right or not.  I got the ball as a hand-me-down.  It's still got he original drill on it, with the pin in the PAP.
