He said when they interviewed him AMF 300 was making some custom stuff for him I believe that it wasn't one of there public released balls.  I couldn't see any kind of label or name on it.

He was wearing an AMF Shirt, so if it was an AMF ball, it was probably the Triumph TNT with some polish.  I did think I saw a goldish pin on his ball.  Couldn't see any labels, think he colored them out.

jpsuper- for the ball to be PBA legal, it has to be a ball readily available to the public.  I'm not sure what he meant by making custom balls and such.  PBA has not notified anyone if they have changed these rules.

Some of the antics that Voss does is for intimidation.  Some pro's do it to help psych out there opponents.  It does work on some and not on others.

I think that kind of energy also has a way of getting the crowd going for you and this often relates to more positive energy.

I think most can agree when things are positive in our lives that good things happen.  The same can be said about negative emotions.

I think that is what happens to Barnes.  He has talent but he hasn't learned to get that extra positive energy yet.

I can remember one of my bowling teams several years ago.  We were by far not the best in the league and I think we were somwhere near the bottom.  It was an 80% handicap league 5 man team and I think we had less than 750 team average and by no means were any of us sandbaggers or could we really bowl a 200 game.  We did have friends that would come on down and cheer for us and we partied in the seats behind the lanes.  Every time someone got a strike or a spare they all got up and did the wave and pumped their fists.  We won the first and second halves that year and this continued into the next year where we won the 1st half and game in second the second half and won league champions two years in a row.

There was so much positive energy for us and it somehow affected the other team.

Weren't the Menace balls all blue? I thought it looke more like an Angle Evolution Extra Tour 1 either without a side logo or with it blacked out. They had the yellow pin. It would have been a good ball on that conditon. Predictable, Pulse core with mild flare, solid superflex coverstock.

If it's illegal to black out the labels and all equipment used on the PBA is readily available to the public, then why does ESPN put the information labels over the ball when the bowler is on the approach so that the label is basically  invisible to us in TVland??? Don't they want that information available to us viewers???
I personally bought a Gold Angle in the mid 80s after watching it being used on the Tour-----and I'm glad I did because I threw my first two 300 games with it.

Well I went to the show, and the antics that Voss were using really were getting the crowd into it. It was really an exciting telecast, but of course it was cause I was there. I hope it was as well on tv. I could not see any logo or anything on Voss's ball, but I am sure there was one. The right lane really was killing them. If only you all could have seen how much they were examining the right lane during commercial breaks, beyond the Walter laying down to read it. I got hated by many people cause I was rooting for Barnes to lose. I will probably get bashed for that, but I cant stand the guy! That was a great finals match, cause that was my two favorite all time bowlers. So it was great, wish it could have been closer. Oh well. I hope everyone enjoyed the show.

speaking of BV, for some reason i find it funny when he goes insane and his head starts shaking after a strike...

One other possible explanation for BV's behavior is that he has been on the outside, looking in, with respect to next year's exempt tour.  This tournament and the double points awarded from it will go a long way toward getting BV his exemption for next year.  He vaulted well into the top 50 after his performance this week.  OTOH, I'm sure he would have preferred to earn the three year exemption by winning.

There was a triumph tnt on the rack. Dont know if it was the one he was using or not. They showed a close up of all the balls sitting on the rack. But I think it was a great show with all the talent that made it.
