The coach for the Missouri team is named Ron Holmes. He bowls in our Thursday night men’s league in Sedalia (MO). Two weeks ago he threw an 814 / 300 against my team. One of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Best lefty in the area. He averages 225 or so.

I could be wrong but I thought I overheard him say that they bowl on sport conditions.

I wish CMSU would have won since they are only 30 miles away from me, but no matter, it was still cool knowing someone on TV!

It might not be that one bowler on each team was short, the rest of the team was very tall!

Berreez, they said they bowled on Sport Conditions for the season.  I know for a FACT, that that tournament and TV show was on a house shot.  MY girls team and coaches were reporting to me the three days that the tournament was going on.

I didn't see the show, but when I bowled at Texas A&M University most (not some, not half, but most) of the talented female bowlers were heavy.  Of course I am assuming they were actually heavy since I didn't get a chance to pick them up.

And hey, if the Dave Traber can take a beating for being horizontally enhanced on television then the ladies should too.

The reason the shot was so weird is that there was a power outage at the time due to a severe thunderstorm going thru the Houston area.  The back up generator could only power so much. It got unbearable humid & hot on the lanes with the lites & all for the last 30 to 45 minutes.                             As the reason for all the girls throwing the same shot, it's in the training.  Notice how all the Nebraska girls have the same pre shot approach.             So do most of the Missouri gals for that fact.                                                                           One can only hope this will reinspire the PWBA in some fashion, now that it is a NCAA sport.                                                                 As far as the Husker gal's  Shannon & Jamie, both are class acts. My son has bowled with a knows them both.  Both are the type of girls you be proud as a parent to have as your daughter.

I personally liked all of the emotion. It showed just how important the “game” was to them. How about the CMSU lady with tears streaming down both her eyes but she still had to finish the frame?

I wished the PWBA had showed half of the emotion these young ladies did. Hope to see the men's next.

I hate to be rude and/or cynical but that show yesterday was terrible. I would rather make gravy than watch that awful display of bowling. Missed spares, topping of the ball, extremely fast feet, bad timing, you name it, everything not to do in bowling was shown yesterday. Looking at some of those averages for the week (220+) they had to be on a house shot. Side note, Pluhowsky and Gazverde are great players. As for Amanda Burgoyne I think she has regressed. I saw her a few years ago in Rockford and she was the best bowler I had ever seen in person male or female. Now she spins the you know what out of the ball. Not very impressive anymore. What was up the exaggerated push away for the Nebraska girls? Yet another reason why women's bowling wont generate much on tv it is simply painful to watch.

For those that give a hoot about college bowling (I Do) the teams yesterday are not a true measure of the young women bowlers out there. How these teams competed yesterday is beyond me. Wichita State, Lindenwood, Kansas, and Western Illinois have legitimate womens programs and will be bowling in Tulsa,OK this week. Hopefully ESPN or ESPN2 will show the IBC's on tv to make up for what some of us had to witness yesterday. The FCC blows the whistle on Howard Stern, yet allows this mockery of the sport on national tv.

This is a FORUM and everyone is entitled to voice their opinion! To say the show was TERRIBLE isn't fair .. these were college kids.. some FRESHMAN .. I would image that they bowled fairly well to get the TV shot .. I wasn't expecting PROS .. it was an UNUSUAL format .. I now see it's popular in YOUTH matches ..

I THINK it's tough to bowl three frames in a game .. sort of reminds me of the PROS when there is a 2 frame roll off. Again everyone is entitled to an opinion .. I'm glad I saw it .. and I HOPE they show more of it! I certainly wouldn’t want it to REPLACE the PRO'S on TV .. but . I DID enjoy it!

Rags, be careful what you say about these girls. Especially mentioning the word fat. King is liable to get on your "arse".  For whatever reason the word "Fat" bothers him.

That bimbo is a good friend of mine. She told me she was really embarrassed now after looking at it. But when you are winning a national title, your emotions take over, and dont really care what you are doing at the time. Anyways, how about next time you dont use the word bimbo?

Well, the show is long over and this topic is starting to create more ill-will than I would have thought, so it is time to lock it.
